Wanda Mae Riggs

Wanda Mae Riggs, aged 81, of Dover, Arkansas, peacefully passed away at her home on January 11, 2026. She was born on May 12, 1944, in Deer, Arkansas, to John and Eady Millsaps Williams.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her siblings: four brothers, Lavern, Junior, Hairl Dean, and Hank Williams; two sisters, Wilma Crowe and Obie Garrison; and four infant siblings, Julia, Rhonda, Alma and "Baby" Williams.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Bill Riggs, along with her sister Sue Riggs (Roy). Wanda cherished her role as a mother to three children: David Riggs (Joy), Lori Mahon, and Erik Riggs (Kate). Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren, Zachary Riggs, Abby Patterson (Shawn), Blake Mahon (Carley), Samantha Garcia (Daniel), and Drake Riggs, as well as her great-grandchild, Weston Garcia. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and many close family friends.

Wanda was a devoted Christian who dedicated 47 years to teaching Sunday School at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Bullfrog Valley. She had an exquisite passion for gardening, particularly flowers, and it was said that "she could grow a rosebush on a rock." As a homemaker, she enjoyed canning produce from her garden and had a knack for finding treasures at yard sales. Wanda worked for several years at the International Shoe Company and was proud to be a Top Avon SalesLady, throughout the years.

An avid camper and four-wheeler rider, Wanda delighted in bluegrass music, often attending festivals in her earlier years. She adored organizing "Tea Parties" for her grandchildren and cherished her role as a baby sister to many throughout her life.

Visitation will be held at Russellville Family Funeral on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 5 to 7 PM. The funeral service will take place at Pleasant Grove Assembly of God on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Owens Cemetery in Dover, Arkansas.

Arrangements are being handled by Russellville Family Funeral. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Riggs, Richard Riggs, George Riggs, Kenny Williams, and Travis Williams. Honorary pallbearers include Blake Mahon, Drake Riggs, Zachary Riggs, Daniel Garcia, and Shawn Patterson. 

The service will be officiated by Bro. Bruce Smithson and Bro. Bob Freeman.
