Truman Swaffar, 87 of Russellville, made his heavenly flight, Sunday, June 4, 2023. He was born February 5, 1936 in Viola, Arkansas to Oscar and Edith Wrather Swaffar. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Pamela Swaffar and Mary Faye Swaffar and a son, Larry Tapp, Sr. and two sisters, Mary & Ruby.
Truman was a member of Victory Assembly of God Church in Atkins. To say he was a hard worker is an understatement. He has worked hard all of his life. He didn't have much time to do anything other than work, but he did enjoy wood working.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruby Swaffar; children, Doug Tapp, Harry and Suze Tapp, Tammy Nimitz, Tammy and Keith Lemarr, Jerry and Barb Swaffar; granddaughter, Audrey Ford, who he raised, as well as numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert Swaffar, Arlin Swaffar, William Swaffar and Jimmy Swaffar, as well as several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
His visitation will be, 6-7pm, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Russellville Family Funeral. His funeral service will 2pm, Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Russellville Family Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Old Baptist Cemetery in Center Valley, under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
Pallbearers will be Eric Price, Travis Tapp, Jeff Swaffar, Jody Swaffar, Justin Swaffar, Mike Brown and Chad Copeland.
