Steven Harold Perry, 50 of Pottsville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born November 27, 1975, in Blytheville, Arkansas to Gary and Peggy Perry.

He is survived by his three children, Jenna Blair Perry & husband Marshall McKinney, Steven Tyler Perry, Jackson Scott Perry; parents, Gary and Peggy Perry; twin brother, Scott Farris Perry & wife Bonnie; nephew, Hudson; brother, Kevin Adams & wife Shannon; niece and nephew, Zachary and Carly; mother of his children, Kelly Rae Perry; close friend, Ashley Perry and her children, Layla Jo and Lyric; and many other family and friends.

Steven was a devoted public servant and respected leader in emergency medical services and firefighting. He began his service with the Blytheville Fire Department. He then joined the Memphis Fire Department, where he worked for 15 years. Beyond his local duties, Steven was an integral member of Tennessee’s FEMA task force known as the Tennessee Task Force One, specializing in urban search and rescue operations.

Following his tenure in Memphis, Steven continued his commitment to emergency services with Survival Flight, where he served for nine years as both a paramedic and later as a base manager and Human Resources director. His leadership and operational expertise were instrumental in advancing the mission of air medical transport and emergency response.

In his most recent years, Steven brought his wealth of knowledge to the Russellville Fire Department, where he held the position of Assistant Chief of EMS and Special Operations. Notably, he played a pivotal role in creating the fire-based emergency medical services system in Russellville, a legacy that will endure in the community’s enhanced capacity to respond to emergencies.

Throughout his life, Steven was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his heartfelt personality. Described as a true servant of his community, he found joy in helping others and dedicated himself to making a difference in the lives of those around him. His humor, kindness and dedication left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Steven Perry’s passing is a profound loss to the community, and he will be deeply missed.

His visitation will be 5-7pm Tuesday March 31st, 2026, at New Life Church in Russellville. The Funeral service will be 10am Wednesday, April 1st at New Life Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.

Pallbearers will be Travis Young, Jeremy Parker, Dave Daugherty, Micah Piker, Chris Vick, Rowdy Bartlett.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men and women of the Russellville Fire Department and Pope County EMS.
