Russellville

Steven Lawson of Russellville, 68, passed away on July 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, unwavering standards, quiet generosity, and deep love for his family.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Regina Lawson; his son, Shawn, of Van Buren; his daughters, Stephanie Fields (Brian) of Dover, Mary Mitchell (Kyle) of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Katherine Hale (Conlee) of Fayetteville; and his cherished granddaughters, Alivia, Aleigh, Verronica, Colby, and Elizabeth.

For more than 36 years, Steve dedicated his career to the environmental asbestos abatement industry, where he earned a reputation as one of the very best in the business. His knowledge, work ethic, and commitment to doing the job right made him someone others sought out and trusted. He never believed in sugarcoating the truth, held everyone—including himself—to a high standard, and expected excellence. While his honesty could be blunt, it was rooted in integrity, and those who worked alongside him respected him deeply.

Family was at the center of Steve's life. After raising three children of his own, he gladly took on the role of helping raise two more little girls. Whether he was helping with history papers, building science fair projects, or slipping them money for a movie night, he found countless ways to show his love through his actions.

Steve shared a remarkable life with his wife, Regina. Over 23 years together, they embraced spontaneous road trips, pulling all-nighters, dancing in their living room to classic country music, and faced every season of life side by side. In his final months, Regina lovingly cared for him with unwavering strength and devotion, a reflection of the deep bond they shared.

The world will undoubtedly be a little quieter without Steve's voice, his wisdom, and his unmistakable presence. Yet his lessons, his work ethic, and the love he poured into his family will continue to echo through the lives of those who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in every story shared, every lesson remembered, and every life he helped shape.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Gentiva Hospice of Russellville in honor of Steve. The family is especially grateful to Nurse Faith for the compassionate care and comfort she provided during Steve's final months.
