Scotty (James) Burch

Hector

James S. Burch, known to many as "Scotty," of Hector, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 31, 1957, in Effingham, Illinois to the late Boyce and Norma Burch. Scotty was preceded in death by both of his loving parents.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted Wife, Ruth Ann Burch. He also leaves behind his two beloved sons Jeremy Burch and Jamie Burch both residing in Hector. He is also survived by his caring sisters: Karen Buchanan (Kenneth) of Dover, Kathy Hurst (Layne) of Van Buren, Lori Livingston (Mark) of Batesville, and brother Steve Burch (Janell) of Clarksville. Additionally, Scotty will be dearly missed by numerous nieces and nephews along with many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his immediate family, Scotty is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Lisa Huelle of Russellville.

A man of deep faith, Scotty believed in his Lord and Savior throughout his life.

 

 During his high school years, he won a state machining competition in Vo-Tech and later after graduating high school secured victory in the Fingers and Pins archery competition. An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Scotty enjoyed fishing and hunting; participating in tournament fishing for over a decade and even winning a boat along the way. His interests were diverse - from hunting anything that ran, flew or swam in the wild.  


 Also being an active member at Galla Creek Golf Club where he accomplished the rare feat of hitting two hole-in-ones in a single day. Additionally, Scotty cherished bowling nights with his wife and cheering on the Razorbacks.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for 1 o'clock at Dover First Baptist Church in Dover, AR on the 29th of April 2024.  The Funeral service will commence at 2 pm followed by burial at Boiling Springs cemetery in Hector, AR. Arrangements have been entrusted to Russellville Family Funeral.

Jeremy Burch, Jamie Burch, Josh Buchanan, Greg Hurst, Luke Livingston and Eli Livingston have been honored to serve as pallbearers for Scotty.
