"Rusty" James Russell Johnson

"Rusty" James Russell Johnson, 67 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026. He was born November 24, 1958 in Pasadena, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Elmo and Carol Johnson.

He is survived by his daughters, Megan Gibbs and husband Jeff of Harrison, Kara Smith and husband Eric of Russellville; four grandchildren, Stella Smith, Jaxon Gibbs, Andrew Gibbs, Scarlett Gibbs; three sisters, Robin Freeman and husband Randy, Karen Van Zandt and husband Gary and Rhonda Houck and husband Bob; nieces, Jessica Bailey and husband Tim, Tiffany Houck Loomis, nephew, Shannon Brown and wife Quincee, as well as several other family and friends.

His visitation will be 5-7 pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Russellville Family Funeral. His funeral service will be 10 am, Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Russellville Family Funeral, with burial following in McFadden Cemetery. You may honor Rusty by wearing his favorite color of blue. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Russellville Family Funeral.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Gibbs, Eric Smith, Jaxon Gibbs, Andrew Gibbs, Tyler Bailey, Connor Bailey, and Gary Van Zandt.
