Opal Lee Whitbey, 96 of Pottsville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at her home. She was born April 29, 1923 in Dover, Arkansas to James Harvey and Bertha Lee Smith Gray. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Allen Whitbey; son, Randy Whitbey; triplets; David, Diane and Darlene and infant, Debra; granddaughter, Debra Lee Moore; grandson, Larry Gene Whitbey; granddaughter, Sandra Wynette Winters; sister, Lois Brown. 

Opal was a loving mother and grandmother, being with her family was the joy of her life. Her legacy lives on in the five generations of her family that she helped mold and shape. Opal enjoyed reading her bible, gardening, sewing and of course, cooking for her family. She was of the Assembly of God Faith and her love for God sustained her throughout her life.

She is survived by her children; Patsy & Lee Shaddon, Dover, Wayne & Peggy Whitbey, Oregon, Larry & Francis Whitbey, Dover, Judy Manning, Pottsville; grandchildren, Joy & James Lewis, Terry & Karen Shaddon, Darla & Frank Bates, Allen & Laura Whitbey, Richard & Nickki Whitbey, Michael & Tiffany Whitbey, Steven Whitbey, Scotty & Krystle Manning, Shawn & Mary Jo Manning, Ashley & Charles German; 28 great grandchildren and a multitude of great great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Manning, Shawn Manning, Charles German, Michael Bates.

Private graveside service and burial will be in North New Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
