Michael Ray Chunn
August 10, 1955 – September 10, 2025
Michael “Mike” Ray Chunn, age 70, of London, Arkansas, entered into eternal rest on September 10, 2025. He was born on August 10, 1955, in Torrance, California, to Nadine Truempler and William Chunn.
Mike went to West High School in Bakersfield, California. Soon after, he honorably enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country with distinction while stationed in Germany. His time abroad shaped him profoundly, and he often shared stories of youthful adventure and resilience during those years away from home.
For more than four decades, Mike devoted his life to a career as a professional truck driver. The open road was not just his livelihood but his passion—a symbol of freedom and independence that he cherished deeply. Following his retirement, Mike pursued another dream by establishing Hickeytown RV Park, a project he built with pride and joy, leaving behind a lasting legacy of hard work and determination.
Mike will be remembered for his charm, unwavering work ethic, and love of simple pleasures—country music, fishing, and, above all, family. His greatest joy came from the moments he spent with his loved ones, particularly his cherished grandchildren. Family gatherings were a source of profound happiness for him, and the memories created will forever live on in the hearts of those he loved.
He was a devoted father to his five children: daughters Melanie Rutledge, Mindy Gonzales, and Ashley Ives; and sons Chad Blaswich and Austin Chunn. His wisdom, unconditional love, and steadfast example will continue to guide their paths.
Mike’s love extended fully to his fourteen grandchildren—Kaylee, Madisyn, Chris, Jaylee, Kayden, Jordyn, Raya, Skylar, Jude, Ronnie, Anthony, Ella, Emilea, and Destiny—each of whom he treasured deeply. He is also survived by his loving life companion, Cynthia Chunn; his sister, Mary (John) Rummel, and their sons Arthur and John; his brother, Lawrence (Cynthia) Chunn, and their son Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Patricia McElroy; his niece, Cassandra Chunn; his parents, Nadine Brown and William Chunn; his grandparents, Lawrence and Dorothy Truempler; and his beloved dog, Bliss, who will surely be waiting faithfully at his side once more.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Madden Cemetery in London, Arkansas, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate his remarkable life.
