Merced Salas, 63 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 12, 1963 in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico to Vicente Salas Jacobo and Maria Isabel Salas Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by wife, Juanita Salas; two brothers, Sabino Salas and Teodoro Salas.

Merced found humor in every situation. Making people laugh and sharing a story for every occasion. He enjoyed car restoration and working with tools . He loved nature and walking up and down the cliffs and valleys and tending to his animals in Mexico.

He is survived by his six children, Max Salas, Tia Salas (William), Josy Salas (Carlos), Luis Salas, Oralia Salas, Linda Salas (Dion); grandchildren, Synthia Salas, Hanna Salas, Lexi Flores, Delaila Salas, Chloe Flores, Julieta Salas; four sisters, Conception, Irene, Maria, Guadalupe, as well as several other family and friends.

His family will host a life celebration and burial in Mexico.
