Mary Lee Fagan Meatheany

April 20, 1931 — October 1, 2025

Russellville

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Lee Meatheany, who left this world peacefully on October 1, 2025, at the age of 94. She was surrounded by love and family, just as she lived her life.

Born on April 20, 1931, in Benton, Arkansas to Marion Fagan and Bessie Fagan. Mary always had a smile on her face. She dedicated her life to her family and friends, leaving an impression on everyone she met. Her warmth and compassion were unmatched, and her laughter could light up any room.

Mary was a devoted wife to James, mother to Dan, and grandmother to Kyle. James and Mary met in Saint Louis and married in 1957. They then moved back to Benton in 1973 where Mary continued working at Sears until retirement. Then, Mary and James moved to Russellville when Kyle was 5 years old to enjoy their only grandchild. She loved spending time with her family. She had a passion for travelling, especially to the beach, she also loved tending to her plants and flowers and oil painting.

She is survived by her only son, Daniel James Meatheany, a daughter-in-law, Kimberly S. Meatheany, and one grandson, Kyle Daniel Meatheany, who will continue to honor her legacy of love. Mary has many nephews and nieces that also adored her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Walker Meatheany, one brother, Jimmy Fagan and several half siblings.

Though our hearts ache with her loss, we find comfort in the countless beautiful memories she leaves behind. She will be remembered fondly by all especially those that cared for her later in life at Brookdale Senior Living Center and the Clarksville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A special thank you to a special care giver, Corey Helton, that cared for both James and Mary. Mary will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, fun energy, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on a future date. Interment will be private at the Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, Arkansas by Russellville Family Funeral Home. Please visit our website, www.russellvillefamilyfuneral.com to share a memory with our family.
