Sister Marie Ekeanyanwu, age 61, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at National Park Medical Center in Malvern, Arkansas. She was born on August 14, 1962, in Lake Providence, LA,
to H.C James and Hazel James Mosley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Willie D. Cooper, Clint Cooper, Dorothy Cooper, Ivory Cooper, Brenda Williams, Ada James, and William James.
She is survived by her daughter Cecilia Oats (Marcus), son Justin Collins; grandchildren Mya Oats and Myles Oats; siblings H. C. James Jr. (Cecilia) and Robert Mosley (Marie); and a host of nieces, great-nieces, and nephews.
Marie, a graduate of Russellville High School, was a member of New Prospect M. B. Church. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and niece, leaving a void in the hearts of her family and close friends.
Marie's professional life was marked by her commitment to caring for others, evident in her roles at Stella Manor, Russellville, and Legacy Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Facilities. Her love for baking, knitting, and collecting angels was a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Her visitation will be Friday May 17th from 5-7pm at the Russellville Family Funeral Chapel.
Service will be Saturday May 18th at 1pm at the New Prospect M.B. Church with Reverend Lee Tyus officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral
