Margie D'Ann Rains, 86 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born March 10, 1938 in Lakin, Kansas to William McVey and Donna Springer McVey. She was the middle child of their six children. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard A Rains; daughter, Tracy D. Tabor; two brothers, David McVey, Tim McVey; two sisters, Geneva McVey Williams and Nancy McVey Doolin.
In 1954, she married her sweetheart, Charles Dempsey Rains of Oxford, Arkansas. They raised five children. During their life together, they moved from Kansas to Oxford, Arkansas and eventually settled in Russellville, where they owned and operated Rains Trucking Company for twenty plus years. She was one of the first women to receive a CDL in Kansas. She was a team driver with her husband. She loved telling stores of their adventures together while working and traveling across the United States.
Margie was a member of Russellville First Assembly for over 30 years and served in the Women's Ministry there. She was a seamstress her entire life. She made clothing for her children and others in the community often sought her services to sew for them. She was always busy making beautiful embroidery pieces in her later years.
She is survived by loving husband of 70 years, Charles D Rains, 88 of Russellville; three children, Marjeana Taylor of Pottsville, Randy Rains and wife Betty of Batesville, Tim Rains and wife Debbie of Dardanelle; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 6 great- great grandchildren; brother, Dick McVey of Pawhuska, Oklahoma as well as several other family and friends.
Her visitation will be 5-7pm, July 2, 2024 at Russellville Family Funeral. The graveside funeral service and burial will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in Union Cemetery, Fulton County, Union, Arkansas under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
Pallbearers will be Dominique Rael and her grandsons, Andy Rains, Aaron Rains, Austin Rains, Allen Engel, Adam Rains, R.J. Rains, Howie Rains, Chris Tabor and Sean Tabor.
