John Hatsuichi Yoshioka

Obituary for John Hatsuichi Yoshioka
On December 1, 2019 our Lord called John to come home to be by his side.  John was born January 1, 1947 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  He was retired from The Boeing Corporation in Houston, Texas where he worked as an Engineer.   He and his wife Gloria built a beautiful life together in Dover, Arkansas following his retirement.
John’s love of animals was evident in how he devoted so much of his life to rescuing many many dogs and cats, saving them from death and providing them with a loving home.  He was especially devoted to his Irish Setters and was a member of the Irish Setter Club of America.  John and his wife Gloria loved the family community involved in showing their precious “redheads” in AKC Conformation Events.
John is survived by his wife Gloria of 13 years, and his two sisters Naomi Sumida and Nancy Yoshioka, along with so many of his fellow Irish Setter and animal lovers.
There will be no funeral service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.  Online guestbook are available at www.russellvillefamilyfuneral.com.
“So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we are far apart.  For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.”

I remember John from the Houston Dog Shows when they were in the Astro Hall. Loved to sit with him and talk. He always asked when I was coming to his house for BBQ, I never made it. John will be missed most by Glo and all his friends. May Shamrocks Fall Softly, have fun with your furbabies that met you at the bridge.

I met John at the Houston dog shows many years ago. He was such a kind and good man and we were all so happy that he found the love of his life in Gloria. What an awesome and loving couple. Always helping others and just being the good people that they were.
Gloria, please know that if there is anything at all that I can help you with please reach out to me. So many of us share in your grief.

The whole Setter family has suffered a great loss Our hearts go out to Gloria. Gloria and John helped so many people and animals. They were always there for anyone needing help or just a shoulder to cry on. A list of all the ways they helped others would be way too long for this space. May the happy memories of their years together sustain Gloria during this sad time.

We only spoke by phone and e-mails over the years but what a happy day when he met and married his love, Gloria. John was always there with advice or help if he was close enough, as was his loving wife. What a big gathering that would have greeted him in his new life with so many humans, canines and felines who were all loved or helped by him. May your strong faith help you in the days, weeks and months ahead, Glo. I am so very sorry.

John was incredible man. We corresponded for years when he was in Texas and his dedication to all his cats and dogs was evident. He always offered people a safe place to stay during storms or a place to stop.

Was so happy when he and Gloria married, a wonderful couple. Years later I met them in Booneville Arkansas to groom their Irish and it was so evident how much they loved each other

Prayers for Gloria as she copes with his loss. No doubt he had a warm welcome in heaven from the many animals he loved. He will watch over Gloria from heaven.
