John B. Samson Sr.

John B. Samson Sr, 88 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026. He was born April 3, 1938 in Ventura, California to Eugene and Laura Samson.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Samson; parents and sister, Peggy Joyce Privett.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy McKellar & husband John; son, John B. Samson Jr & wife Bettina "Bet"; grandchildren, Wendy Pitts & husband Floyd, Johnathan McKellar & wife Jamie, Misty Merchen & husband Justin, Laura N. Samson; great grandchildren, Collin, Alexis, Nathaniel, Kaylee, Zane, Jacob, Ethan, Dustin, Cody, Blake; great-great grandchildren, Priscilla, Kooper, Keeva and several other family and friends.

John served his country proudly in the US Navy as a Seebee. He retired from Mare Island Naval ship yard. In his spare time he loved scuba diving and flying airplanes. He was very well loved by all who knew him.

His visitation will be at 5-7pm Wednesday September 9th, 2026 at Russellville Family Funeral chapel. Graveside Funeral service with military honors will be 10am Thursday, September 10th at Hudson cemetery in Moreland. Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.

Pallbearers will be Johnathan, Floyd, Justin, Nathaniel, Zane and Kevin.
