Jeani Ane Hickey Tarbat Ison, lovingly known as "TNT" - little but mighty; passed away on June 27, 2026. Born August 12, 1957, in Castro Valley California, to Betty Louise and Argie Ray Hickey, Jeani was the youngest of three children. Her older sister and brother raised her to be tough, and that toughness carried her through every chapter of her life.
Jeani married and happily divorced twice, and she'd be the first to tell you it was worth it; because both marriages gave her the children she loved more than anything in this world.
She was a proud mother to her four surviving children: James (Bethany), Jannette (Danny), Jill (AD), and Jaret. Her son Jordan preceded her in death. While many would say her children were her universe, nothing came close to her joy in being "Grammy" to her grandchildren: Cassidy, Jettson, Myla, Jovi, Madden, Liam, Rowan, and the newest addition Calder, and bonus granddaughter Aniyah. She also held a special place in her heart for her nieces, Melissa (Matt) and Erika (Rick), whom she loved as her own.
Jeani never limited her love to just her own family. She had a way of taking people under her wing, offering unconditional love to anyone who needed it, and making countless people fell like they belonged. She had a special gift for noticing those who needed someone in their corner, welcoming them with open arms, and leaving a lasting impact through her compassion and generosity.
Jeani's world revolved around her children and grandchildren, and she loved them all fiercely and unconditionally. A phenomenal athlete in her own right, she brought that same fire to the sidelines; never missing a ballgame, swim meet or competition, and driving all over California and Arkansas more times than anyone could count to make sure she was there. She had an infectious laugh, the best hugs, and a competitive spirit that never quit, even as she faced her own health struggles. She kept powering on, always, for her children and grandchildren.
Jeani was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Louise (Hickey) Kamen and Argie Ray Hickey; her grandparents; her son, Jordan; and her beloved brother-in-law, Robert Ashley.
We will never be able to fill the hole her passing leaves in our lives, but we find comfort knowing she is now at peace in Heaven, reunited with her parents and her son.
A visitation and celebration of life will be 5-7pm Thursday, July 2nd, 2026 at Russellville Family Funeral. In honor of Jeani's love for the San Francisco Giants, attendees are invited to wear black, orange, or Giants gear.
A private interment for family will be held at a later date.
