James Elmer Chisum left peacefully surrounded by his family on May 11, 2024.
Born October 30th, 1939, in Ben Hur Arkansas to the late Robert “Bob” Wesley Chisum and Ider Chisum. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Verla Faye Chisum, Brother Hubert Chisum of California, Lonnie Chisum of Russellville, sister Lottie Chisum “infant”, Sister in Law Shirley Chisum and Brother in Law Bob Sims.
Survived by his wife Barbara Chisum of Dover, daughter Sandy Strickland (Wayne) of Dover, daughter Brenda McNamara of Hector, sister Reba King of Russellville, Brother in Law Norman Hill (Charlcie) of Monticello, and Jack Chisum of Witt Springs; Sisters in Law Arbie Adams (Chester) of Deer, Wilma Johnson (Don) of Russellville, Judy Sims of Morrilton, Grandchildren Matt Strickland (Maddy), Michael Strickland and fiancé Kailey May and Amber McNamara. Great Grandchildren Audrey Lorene Strickland and soon to arrive Rhett Hayes Strickland, numerous nieces and nephews and a very special friend Billy Hubbard.
We would also like to thank Hospice Home Care and a special thank you to Ashley Thompson for the care and comfort she provided for James and the family.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 15, 2024, at Russellville Family Funeral 4PM until 6PM
Graveside Funeral service will be at Bethel Cemetery Thursday May 16, 2024, at 2PM with Rev. Arnold Humphrey officiating.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Strickland, Matt Strickland, Michael Strickland, Billy Hubbard, Rick Chisum, Randall Blalack.
Family request casual dress.Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.
