Ida Susan Swindle Ehemann

March 19, 1951 — July 4, 2016

Ida "Susan" Swindle Ehemann, 65, of Atkins, departed this life Monday, July 4th, 2016, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock surrounded by her family. She was born March 19th, 1951, in Water Valley, Mississippi, the daughter of the late William Franklin "Frank" and Mary Elizabeth Zachary Swindle, JR. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt and a doting grandmother. She was a 1969 graduate of Van Buren High School, and wasn't afraid to learn new things. She served Pope County as a florist, beautician, baker, direct sales route saleswoman at Cheek Wholesale and much more. She married the love of her life Kenneth R. Ehemann on October 25th, 1974; they created a fantastic life together for 41 1/2 years. She was a daddy's girl that made anyone feel welcome in her home. She made sure you knew you were fiercely loved in her presence. She had a sense of humor that could spur a fight, ease some tension and/or make you laugh. Susan is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Sharon Beth Reynolds. She is survived by her husband Kenneth, of the home and her children; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Renee and Ken L. Calbert, II, of Vian, OK; son and daughter-in-law, William Franklin "Billy" and Kala Danyell Lasater Ehemann, of Atkins, AR; honorable "son" and "daughter-in-law" Mark Wayne and Michele Bowden, of Atkins, AR; honorable "daughter" and "son-in-law" Christie Mechelle and Shawn Sanders, of Jacksonville, FL; five biological grandchildren, Devin Myles Ehemann and Kenneth L. "KC" Calbert III of Vian, OK; Charles Finnegan, Nealy Elizabeth and Oliver William Ehemann of Atkins, AR; two honorable "grandchildren" Lauren Taylor and Hayden Rex Bowden of Atkins, AR; numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 9th, 10:00am, at the Atkins Church of the Assumption in Atkins, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Animal Rescue Services in your local area. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral Home.
