Howard L Carter

Howard L. Carter, "Dude", 62 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022..  He was born June 14, 1960 in Beaver, Oklahoma to Marvin F. and Adella Collins Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Alex Carter.

Howard graduated Barstow High School. After graduating, Howard proudly served in the US Navy.  He was a mechanic for several years.  He was known as "Dude" by his close friends. Dude was kind and stubborn, but always had time to solve a problem, no matter how small.  Resiliency was his special skill.  Through the years, he had several close calls with his health issues, but he overcame.  He was a supporting, loving father to his children.  He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

"A father like you is rare, one that's so generous, smart and kind.  A father like you is what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter, always doing great deeds. Nothing can replace a father like you, but when you get to heaven, God will be lucky to have you too."

He is survived by four children, Emily Grace Carter of Russellville, Sarah Carter of Russellville, Angela Carter-Densmore of California, Jason Carter of California; grandson, Cole Carter of Russellville, as well as several other grandchildren, family and friends.

His visitation will be 11-12, Monday, August 29, 2022 at Russellville Family Funeral, with his funeral service beginning at 12 noon, following the visitation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Russellville Family Funeral.

I hate to hear this. I was just looking up another obituary, when I seen Howard. I lived next to Howard for 5 years. He was good people. He loved his children, he would talk about them all the time. I havent seen him in prolly a year. I would swing by and see him and my neighbor on the other side every once in awhile. Im so sorry for your loss. Prayers for all who knew him.

I remember playing together on Grandpa Carters farm , when we were young. We lost contact for 50 years, but were brought back together 4 years ago. I loved getting to know him again, I will remember him with the laughter that he spread. RIP my dear cousin, Thank you for your service, I will miss you.

When I was married to Howard he took us on many family trips with the Girls. Once I drove with Howard and the Girls to Canada. He Had the time of his Life. And we Loved our Cruise we went on so much! He was a fun person to be around. The Twins had a close relationship with him especially Emily. She was his caretaker for 3 years. I'm very proud of Emily and Sarah caring for their Dad with love and Compassion! Anytime anything went wrong he would say Dude......

My deepest sympathy to Howard's Family and Friends.
Although we really only had family in common, he went out of his way to help me out. I will always remember that and the great barbecue ribs and brisket he would make.
