Harry G. Foster, 90 of Russellville, AR passed away at home the morning of July 6, 2023. Harry was born on January 13, 1933 in Spearsville, LA to his parents, William Crawford Foster and Rosa Lee Barron Foster and grew up in the town. He served in the Navy during the Korean War after graduating from high school and after four years in the Navy, returned home where he soon met and married Dorothy Rowland of nearby Junction City, AR. They had two sons who currently reside in Russellville, AR; Kelvin Foster and Roland Foster.
Harry attended and graduated from Southern Arkansas College in Magnolia and after a few shorter-term jobs, began working for Murphy Oil Corporation in El Dorado, AR. He had a multi-decade career with the company and its subsidiaries. A majority of his career was as a lumber sales manager for Deltic Farm & Timber, Harry retired from the company in 1992. He enjoyed fishing his whole life as an outdoor hobby and traveling in the early years of retirement.
Harry is survived by his wife Dorothy Rowland Foster, sons Kelvin and Roland Foster, brother Barney Foster of Sahuarita,AZ, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents and brothers Donald and Ronald Foster of Spearsville, LA.
