Gregory Alan Bell

Apr 11, 1963 — Jun 24, 2026

After a long hard fought battle with cancer, on the evening of Wednesday, June 24, our Lord relieved Gregory Alan Bell of his weary, earthly body and granted him a perfect heavenly body in paradise.

Greg was born on April 11, 1963 in California to John and Joyce (Aday) Bell. After graduating from Hector High School in 1981, he joined the Navy, training in the nuclear program. Completing 7 years of naval service to his country, he then enrolled in Arkansas Tech for his undergraduate, and then obtained a doctorate in Pharmacy at UAMS. Greg worked at Baker Pharmacy and Newton Pharmacy before purchasing and operating Hector Pharmacy, and later helped start the Pottsville Pharmacy.

A vivacious, adventurous spirit filled Greg’s life with diverse interests – sports, hunting, fishing, guns, gun shows, knives, scuba diving, digging for and collecting arrowheads. . . He was a collector of items as eclectic as his personality. When he retired from pharmacy, he learned to play the mandolin and greatly enjoyed playing along with his dad and others during church services at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Greg was highly intelligent, quick witted, and could also be quick tempered, which was a combination that could either make you laugh or cry. He was a man’s man, a man of faith, a man of his word, a man with a big heart, a man who went above and beyond, a man conservative to the core, and a man who loved his community. He was truly a man of determination. His grit, and the blessing of our Father in Heaven, are why he lived to see his daughter earn her MD from UAMS and to see his grandson’s first birthday.

Greg is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 29 years, Teresa (Drewry); daughter Dr. Shelby Baker, son-in-law Andrew, and grandson Benjamin; his parents John and Joyce (Aday) Bell; siblings Tim (Celia), Mark (Nicole), Gina (Jeff) Romines, and Clint (Amy); mother-in-law Linda Drewry; sister-in-law Tina (Walt) Davis; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a slew of friends. All will miss his master storytelling and strong presence.

His visitation will be 5-7 pm, Friday, June 26, 2026 at Russellville Family Funeral.

A funeral service (celebration of life) will be held at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church on June 27th at 1 pm.

Interment will be at Witts Springs Cemetery following the service.
