Gary Meador

Gary William Meador age 76 went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 21,2023 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, Ar. Gary was born in Prescott, AR to parents Roland and Marion Meador. He graduated from Prescott High School. He immediately joined the United States Air Force and served three years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.   Gary was a kind, loving, fair, but tough Manager for two major retail companies, Sterling’s Magic Mart and Wal-Mart. He spent a total of 43 years in the retail industry starting at age 14. Gary and family were members of the Moreland Fire Department for 20 years, where he also served as fire chief for five years. After retirement he pursued his lifelong dream of starting a cattle farm.  He along with his wife and two sons started with one bull and two cows. Through hard work and dedication Meador Farms was established in 1983 and will be the place of internment in the Meador Family Plot. Gary is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary Joe Meador, Sons Tony (Marsha), Russell (Staci). He is also survived by five wonderful grandchildren, Kaitlin Meador, Brayden Meador, Trevor Fugate, Landen Meador, Skeet Fugate. Two Sisters Geraldine Wilson (RD) and Maxie Walden. One brother David Meador (Rowena) and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents Roland and Marion Meador, one brother Roger Meador, Mother-in-Law Wanda Hamilton, and Brother-in-Law David Hamilton. In addition, a great loving friend Joe Cooper and many beloved cows. There will be a private service family only at Meador Farms with a Celebration of Life event afterwards for close family and friends.
