Elois Miles Trusty, Dardanelle, entered into her final rest on January 24, 2026 at her home. She was 90 years old. She was born on October 18, 1935 to Charles and Rachel (Spicer) Miles in Scranton, AR where she grew up. She married James Harold Trusty on February 3,1954 and raised three daughters. The couple spent their lives farming in the McGehee and Dardanelle areas of Arkansas. They had times of plenty and times of want, but Elois always made a warm home that welcomed family and friends with what she had.
You have never met anyone that could put a delicious meal on the table--using what was available in the pantry--more graciously and efficiently than Elois. She put those skills to good use during the times that she worked as a restaurant manager, and she loved her gardens. Everything that she touched flourished. Every house she lived in was left with beautiful trees and flowers for the next occupants to enjoy. She was a smart, caring woman who worked hard her entire life, starting when she was a young girl working in the field picking fruits and vegetables next to her dad. Elois loved her family with her entire heart and often sacrificed her own needs to take care of others. Elois’ faith in Jesus Christ sustained and guided her throughout her life. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Elois was a life-long and unapologetic Democrat.
Elois is survived by her daughters: Pamela Gilbreath (James), Fayetteville, Rachelle Trusty, London, and Kristie Brown (Darryl), Dardanelle; grandchildren: Jamie Wetsell, Codi Bartlett, Rowdy Bartlett, Wade Wood, and Kyle Wood; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Jean Kunz, Little Rock, and Betty Tabor, McGehee; three brothers: George Miles, Monticello, Gary Miles and Larry Miles, both of McGehee. Her husband preceded her in death, as did her parents, infant brother, Finis Ray, infant sister, Rebecca Jane, brothers Charles Miles and Jimmy Miles, and her sister Nelda Strecker.
