David Lewis Collins, 72 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025. He was born December 11, 1952. He was preceded in death by parents, L.B. and Glenda Collins, mother-in-law Linda Carney, and brother, Robert Collins.
David had many interests and hobbies. He loved collecting things. In his younger years, he collected thousands of arrowheads which he found through arrowhead hunting. He collected many coins and paper money from all over the world, gold and silver, comic books, music and movies, and a huge collection of guns of which he was very proud and always adding to. He loved spending his time outdoors. He enjoyed mowing his yard, cutting down trees, and he was very proud of a rock culvert he built on his driveway. He loved hiking and exploring nature with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved riding his motorcycle and was very excited when he completed his accomplishment to ride on every marked road in Arkansas. He was an artist. He loved painting, drawing, and poetry. He enjoyed visiting art museums, Native American museums, and military history museums. David served his country in the United States Air Force and Army National Guard during Vietnam and Desert Storm. No matter the situation, David always had a positive outlook on life. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to crack jokes and be silly. His passion for life and sense of humor will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Collins; two children, Justin Collins of Russellville; Shanna Martray and husband Bryan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jayden, Josiah, Molly Jo; siblings, Jay Collins and wife Susan, Larry Collins and wife Vera, Sherrie Hartzell and husband Lloyd, Angela Collins; father-in-law, Delbert Carney; sister-in-law, Laura Clark and husband Randy; sister-in-law, Sherri Collins; dear friends, Kurt and Shelia Loyd; his dog, Dutchess, as well as several other family and friends.
His Life Celebration will be 2pm, Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Russellville Family Funeral. Bro. Johnny McCoy will officiate.
