Cynthia Louise Callahan, 65 of London, Arkansas, passed away, Monday, December 22, 2025 at her home. She was born August 26, 1960 in Denver, Colorado to Carroll Lee Henderson and Susan Scott Henderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son, Sean DeLong,
Cynthia finished high school at Osceola, MO while living with her maternal grandparents. She attended School of the Ozarks, Hard Work U in Point Lookout, MO for 3 years studying home economics. Cynthia then married Sarah and Colum's father. She was introduced to the Russellville, AR area during that time. Later in Russellville she met and married Belle and Alina's father. Cynthia was a lifelong learner and teacher. She home schooled her children at various times and helped to establish a successful home schooling group in Pope County. She gained her BS in Physical Science at Arkansas Tech and taught chemistry and physics at Russellville High School and at Tech.
In 2011 she met and married Christian. They lived a quiet life on their small farm and she pursued her hobbies of music, contra-dancing, sewing, and quilting. She leaves many friends associated with those hobbies.
Cynthia accepted Christ as a teenager and had a strong, enduring faith. She studied the Bible and always sought better understanding of the Word. She has been in membership of several churches in her life and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church at her passing.
She is survived by her husband, Christian Callahan; children, Sarah Lea (Andrew), Colum Knight, Belle Brickinridge, Alina Evergreen (Mark), stepdaughter, Nicky Callahan (Ben Marrow), step-granddaughter, Ari Callahan; siblings, Scott Anderson, Shelly Anderson, and a special cousin Pat Henderson Austin, as well as several other relatives and friends.
Cynthia’s memorial service will be Tuesday, January 6 at 10:00am in the sanctuary at Central Presbyterian Church in Russellville, followed by a celebration of her life with all of her friends and family in the fellowship hall at the church. Luncheon will be provided and potluck items are welcomed. Just as Cynthia always enjoyed new friends please join in to share in this celebration of her life.
