Brett Nelson

Brett Wayne Nelson, 36 of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was born December 18, 1987 in Russellville, Arkansas to Gail Howell and biological father, Greg Hickey, and the father that raised him, Ken Edwards.

Brett Wayne Nelson, graduated from Pottsville High School in 2006. He then joined the Navy serving 3 tours and retiring after 4 years as a disabled veteran. After that he attended Morrilton Community College for 2 years. 

He was preceded in death by his biological father, Greg Hickey; brother, Aaron Hickey; grandfather, Ralph Hickey; grandparents, James and Virginia Edwards. 

He is survived by his mother, Gail Howell, and father that raised him, Ken Edwards; two sisters, Kendra Edwards, Chelsey Hickey; nephew, Talon Stocking; niece, Mallory Goates; grandparents, Donald (Ora Mae) Cross; aunts and uncles, Cindy (Tim) Goates, Jimmy (Becky) Edwards, Gene (Sandy) Edwards; Janet Edwards; cousins, Tyler Standridge, Chris Standridge, David Crail and many other cousins.  

Visitation will be 4-6pm Sunday, July 28th at Russellville Family Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be at North New Hope Cemetery in Dover hwy 333, on Saturday August 3rd at 10A.M.
